Versailles was an absolute highlight of this tour. My husband has trouble walking but with a walker he was able to get into the building. We went right to the front of the line that must have been a quarter of a mile long. The live tour guide spoke into a headset hat we picked up on receivers we were wearing. Good pace for us and two other people with walking problems. Lunch was excellent. The city tour timing was off. The headset would describe something, Arch of Triumph, for example, after we had turned the corner. You weren't aware of what you were seeing until it was gone. The Eiffel tower was a plus, and the river cruise was relaxing. Glad we did it.
Highly recommended for visitors looking for an organized and planned out day trip which takes them through a detailed history of the Palace of Versailles including a visit to the Gardens, a 3 course lunch and then a visit to the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower, followed by an option Seine River Cruise you can use the ticket later for up to a year if you are too tired to do it immediately. The trip was very organized and the guides were excited and quite organized
We missed this tour because we could not find the Paris City Vision. We got off the Metro and had no idea where to go. Again, no directions. We walked around the area for 45 minutes and even the two tourism offices did not know where the Paris City Vision office was. We finally found it after 45 minutes and missed our trip. There is NO signage you can see of the Paris City Vision office until you are standing right in front of it. There are big arches over the sidewalk that cover it, as well. The directions would be, get off the Pyrimedies metro station and turn right. Walk to the next corner and then turn left. The street sign should say, 1 rue Pyramedies. The Paris City Vision office is about three blocks down on the left side where there are lots of arches. We ended up taking another Versailles trip the next day and finished the afternoon tour on the day we were scheduled. They could have cared less and didn't apologize for the difficulty we had. It cost us another 106.00!!! We learned later that there were a lot of people who have trouble finding it.
We had a couple of things go wrong on this tour. First the Seine River was flooded so we were not able to do the river cruise that was unavoidable. Second we were not able to go up in the Eiffel Tower the view from the Montparnasse Tower was spectacular however. Third the Palace of Versailles tour seemed unorganized. We divided into two groups and the first group entered quickly, but the second group had to wait about 30 minutes to enter. Forth drinks are not included with lunch and a soft drink was 9.80 very expensive. You do get to see the highlights of the city and if you don't have much time, this is a great way to see almost everything you'd want to see in the city.
We enjoyed the Versailles tour very much. Our guide was informative and had sufficient time in the palace and gardens. Lunch provided was nice.
As for the Paris city tour, you can't see much if you are sitting in the bottom level of the double decker bus. Our guide for the city tour was useless. Also, Seine River cruise ticket is not skip-the-line type, you will have to endure the very long queues and infrequent cruise times. In the end, we gave up.
Tour provider seemed a little disorganized - lots of standing around. They only take one bus out to Versailles for all language groups so you have to hear all of the announcements in 5 or 6 languages. Once we got to Versailles, they gave us 10 minutes of free time to explore the gardens which isn't nearly enough but then we had to spend 20 or so minutes in queue to enter. Once inside, it was packed and tour guide rushed us room to room. Her English was better than my French but not by much. Lunch was even more disorganized and a couple of people in the group showed up late to lunch because they did not know where to go.
We bailed on the tour after the lunch and I insisted that they just give me the tickets to the river cruise to do on our own.
