Lake Como is absolutely stunning. The overall tour was memorable and absolutely breathtaking. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and very kind. Visiting Lake Como is an absolute must, we hope to return one day soon.

This is in overall a good tour with not long distances to travel in bus, good amount of time in the towns and knowledgeable tour guides. The ride from Milan to Como is about 1 hour. In Como, the guide gives you a short tour of the city center and then about 1.5 hours of free time, enough to explore the town on your own. Then, you take a boat to Bellagio while stopping in many of the different towns along the lake. This is the regular transportation boat that local uses and it takes 2 hours to make it from Como to Bellagio. The tour guide gives you hints and details of some of the villas and towns during the trip. In Bellagio you have 1 hour of free time. Then you take a short ferry to cross the lake and take the bus back to Milan. They drive back is 1:45 since you start at the town of Cadenabbia. The excursion in overall is good but if you want more flexibility and you dont have problems taking public transportion on your own, I recommend doing the whole trip on your own taking the train from Milan to Como, then the boat to Bellagio or any of the other towns, the boat back to Como and then the train back to Milan. Another option is to rent a car and drive to Como and continue driving to the other towns but you will have to factor in parking costs and not seeing the lake from the boat.

We had an air conditioned bus with WiFi and power for recharging phones after taking all those photos! Our guide Marco and bus driver, also named Marco, were excellent. Our guide was very knowledgeable and patient, answering questions, sharing information and history along the drive, in Como and during the boat trip to Bellagio. We had a very nice day!

we enjoyed the day but the tour is over-priced for what you get. We were on our own moat of the time, which was OK for exploring Como and Bellagio. the boat ride around lake was very nice. For the price, lunch should have been included

In terms of the transportation costs this trip was worth it, if you are just curious to see the area. You take a bus to Como and then spend about an hour there, and then a ferry on Lake Como to Bellagio where you have three hours to explore on your own. Then a ferry across Lake Como to meet your bus and drive back.

If you like relatively self-directed time this was good. It did not deliver much in terms of background information on the history of the area, but rather the tour guides gave some summary info about where to eat and shop and then cut us loose.

Getting on the ferries felt the most discombobulated. The tour guides handed out ferry tickets to a group of about 100 of us in a kind of unorganized way that created kind of a mob. Then our tour merged with a few others to get on the ferry which was also kind of chaotic. I think giving out the ferry tickets on the bus would have made more sense, and also a little warning about the hectic process of getting on the ferry would have been nice.
