Brisbane
The largest sand island on the planet, World Heritage-listed Fraser Island is a remote wonderland of sand dunes, lakes, multicolored cliffs and lush rainforest.
Stretching for more than 123 km, the island is known for its wildlife, including turtles, dolphins, humpback whales, lace monitor lizards, dugongs, wallabies and possums. The number of dingoes on the island is decreasing – if you see one though, avoid it as they have been known to attack.
